Who We Are


	Company History

In January 2007, Consonus of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Strategic Technologies, Inc. of Cary, North Carolina, joined forces to become Consonus Technologies, Inc. (CTI) subsidiary companies. The merger united Consonus, a high-availability data center and IT managed service provider, with Strategic Technologies, a data center-focused provider of managed services and resilient infrastructure solutions. Together as CTI we design, build, host and manage high-availability data center solutions.

Established in 1996 to store, protect and manage critical business information and computer systems, Consonus was fast becoming a national leader in the design and delivery of high-availability data center solutions. Originally headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Consonus was founded by Questar Corporation and later sold to private equity firm Knox Lawrence International in 2005.

Strategic Technologies, Inc., was founded in 1988 as CAD Systems of the Carolinas—a computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) company focusing on service, technical expertise, and training. Growing quickly, the company recognized the changing trend in the technology industry towards client/server architecture. In 1990, leveraging our existing knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM system engineering, we branched into engineering automation, general system infrastructure design and implementation, and related areas where our customers had needs. Services grew to include document and imaging management, training and skills transfer, system support, business systems, network and systems management solutions. The company was renamed Strategic Technologies, Inc. in 1991.
