In order to ensure that customers can be operational and have their critical applications up and running within agreed-upon timeframes, CTI has developed a recovery methodology that will be deployed when customers declare a disaster. The following are the major components of this methodology:
- Restore and attach or redirect replicated data to the recovery infratructure
- Bring the recovery infrastructure up to an operational state. The recovery infrastructure will include servers, storage, switches, firewalls and Internet connectivity. A key component of making the recovery infrastructure operational is the loading of the various application operating systems onto the designated servers.
- Enable end user access to the recovery environment
- Provide operational support for the recovery infrastructure
- Failback to the new production environment when appropriate
The primary goal of the VBC methodology is to limit customer involvement in the recovery and failback processes and to ensure that defined Recovery Time Objectives are met.
