Solutions Architect, HP
Preferred Location: Carolinas
The HP Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for working closely with sales representatives to define technical components, consultative professional services, support services and other aspects of technical solutions sales as it relates to our vendor HP. The SA establishes technical credibility and fosters technical relationships in customer accounts and with vendor representatives.
The ideal candidate will be grounded in IT Infrastructure technologies from HP. Including hands on experience. Additional knowledge desired around virtualized IT environments. He or she will have extensive experience in developing consultative solutions around IT processes and best practices (ITIL a plus), with a thorough understanding in the business impact of IT in various business verticals. He or she will possess extensive pre-sales experience.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for positioning company's solutions in accounts; lead presales solutions specialist with primarily services and product focus who drives revenue growth in major accounts.
- Assists sales account executive and regional HSLs in driving increased solution-led sales, i.e., using HP hardware, software & services to solve customer problems
- Owns technical account plan, system assurance, acceptance criteria, competitive strategy, and customer education for HP solutions.
- Pre-Sales Technical Overlay – work with the pre-sales teams on configs and architecture
- Work with Implementation and Pre-Sales teams to ensure that LOE’s and SOW’s are scoped properly
- Work with HP Channel team to ensure NDA Product Updates are distributed
Secondary Functions (shared responsibilities)
- Maintain relationships with the HP Channel teams from a company perspective and shared responsibility with regional sales leadership team for the regions
- Work with Marketing and HP to plan marketing efforts with MDF funds (mainly driven by marketing)
- Work with Distribution (Avnet) to secure training and other Avnet funded activities for the sales team.
- Work with HPChannel team to ensure NDA Product Updates are distributed
- Report results weekly
Work Environment
Travel 40% of time. Overnight travel within the US. Company will provide continuous training to successful candidate as part of overall career development.
