Solutions Architect
The Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for working closely with sales representatives to define technical components, consultative professional services, support services and other aspects of technical solutions sales. The SA establishes technical credibility and fosters technical relationships in customer accounts and with vendor representatives.
The ideal candidate will be grounded in IT Infrastructure technologies from Sun Microsystems, Symantec / Veritas, Hitachi Data Systems, and Network Appliance including previous hands-on experience. Experience in technologies from HP, VMware, and Oracle are highly desirable. He or she will have extensive experience in developing consultative solutions around IT processes and best practices (ITIL a plus), with a thorough understanding in the business impact of IT in various business verticals. He or she will possess extensive pre-sales experience.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for positioning company's solutions in accounts; lead presales solutions specialist with primarily services and product focus who drives revenue growth in major accounts.
- Establishes "trusted technical advisor" relationships with senior technology and customer executives
Assists sales account executive in driving increased solution-led sales, i.e., using hardware, software & services to solve customer problems - Acts as single point of contact to the customer for pre-sales technical expertise
- Arranges necessary support from internal or vendor subject matter experts
- Owns technical account plan, system assurance, acceptance criteria, competitive strategy, and customer education.
- Writes solution proposals, Statements of Work and technology evaluation plans
- Drives Professional Services opportunities to closure obtaining signed SOW
Work Environment
Day travel within each area is required as well as approximately 20% or less overnight travel within the US. Company will provide continuous training to successful candidate as part of overall career development.
