Planning a Data Center Relocation
A smooth, effective data center relocation begins with a thorough analysis of your existing environment and data center services. This Present Method of Operation (PMO) review examines every aspect of your data center services, including the servers, applications, infrastructure, storage, and interactions and/or interdependencies of data center components. We also review Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as well as your current processes to ensure understand thorough understanding of the requirements of your data center hosting site.
Next, a Desired Future State (DFS) document is created to identify and record the requirements for success. The DFS incorporates any changes to make during the relocation, such as virtualization, technology upgrades, process evolution, or amended SLAs.
In the Design Process, we collaborate with you as we build a roadmap to move from one location to the other. We identify and document every activity that must occur and any detail that must be addressed during a data center relocation. This includes but is not limited to software licenses, hardware purchases, cable plans, and network changes. This step in the process affirms or identifies for the need for any budget adjustments. There are no surprises in a data center relocation with Consonus.
Developing the implementation plan is the last step in planning a data center relocation. Here, we coordinate with you to devise a schedule that details the responsible party, prerequisites, timeframes, and resources required.
