(May 29, 2008) SALT LAKE CITY – Consonus Technologies, Inc. announced today that Kelly Sawyer, District Sales Manager for the company’s western region, has been elected to sit on the board of directors for Utah’s Women Technology Council, a not-for-profit organization benefiting women in all levels of the technology industry in the state.
A founding member of the council, Sawyer joins several other local businesswomen in coordinating administrative and promotional activities for the council, including building membership and sponsorship opportunities within the community.
Sawyer has contributed to business development efforts at Consonus, a leading data center and IT managed services provider originally based in Salt Lake City, for four years. The company’s rapid growth recently culminated in a merger with complementary managed services provider Strategic Technologies based in Cary, N.C., also the company’s new headquarters. Since the merger, Consonus Technologies has been aggressively positioning itself as a national leader in the design, implementation, hosting and managing of high-availability data center solutions. Consonus opened a new data center, its fourth proprietary facility in the Salt Lake Valley, in April.
Sawyer has 20-plus years of business development, sales and marketing experience, serving various technology companies such as Computer Associates, Red Brick Systems, Interlink Group, Viawest, and Hercules Aerospace. She has also spent time in banking, engineering, and security industries, as well as running her own retail business.
