Proficio Bank chooses Consonus for colocation
CARY, NC - October 27, 2008 - Consonus today announced that it will provide co-location services for financial services provider Proficio Bank. Consonus will host part of Proficio's mission-critical data and IT equipment at its newest Salt Lake-area data center facility, PDC, providing them with state-of-the-art disaster recovery capabilities.
A national data center and IT managed services provider originally based in Salt Lake City, Consonus has three world-class data center facilities in Utah and several partner facilities across the country. The company's rapid growth culminated in a January 2007 merger with complementary managed services provider Strategic Technologies of Cary, N.C. Since the merger, Consonus Technologies has been aggressively positioning itself as a national leader in the design, implementation, hosting and managing of high-availability data center solutions. Consonus opened its newest Utah data center, PDC, in April, and recently added a facility in North Carolina.
Based in Salt Lake City, Proficio Bank is a specialty lender providing banking and mortgage services to the relocation and real estate industries. Partnering with Consonus will allow Proficio to provide more reliable services to its customers, which include a variety of companies involved in the purchasing, financing and construction of homes.
"Increasing regulations within the financial sector require us to demonstrate that we're keeping our customers' data protected and available to the highest degree possible," says Marc Horne, Vice President of IT Services at Proficio. "Consonus' highsecurity, high-availability facilities, as well as their expert staff, are helping us meet and even exceed these service levels so we can continue to focus on our business initiatives."
Horne says he chose Consonus for co-location services for several reasons: while Consonus' new data center facility is located near Proficio's corporate offices, providing convenient access, he also felt their national data center presence-more than a dozen facilities across the U.S.-would give him the option to expand into other geographic areas as his business grows. Another key feature for Horne was the high level of redundancy in Consonus' Internet infrastructure, with access to five different carrier networks.
